BACKGROUND

The Gaston County Sheriff’s Office received an appropriation in the 2021-2022 North Carolina budget for Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) equipment. The Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team will utilize funding to upgrade handguns. The Staccato XC handgun has been selected to provide superior performance and accuracy. Staccato 2011 LLC has been identified as the only vendor that can provide this weapon. Approval of this Board Action authorizes staff to proceed with the sole source purchase from Staccato 2011 LLC.
