BACKGROUND

National Fire Prevention Week is observed across the United States each year during the first full week (Sunday thru Saturday) that contains the date of October 9th. The Fire Prevention Week 2021 Campaign highlights this year’s focus on educating everyone about the different sounds that smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. NFPA has plenty of fire safety materials for kids and adults. Learn what to do when an alarm sounds to keep you and your family safe in the event of a fire or carbon monoxide leak. When an alarm makes noise - a beeping sound or a chirping sound - you must take action.
