BACKGROUND
Through the Coronavirus Relief Fund, the CARES Act provides for payments to state, local, and tribal governments navigating the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. Gaston County received CARES Act federal funds in the amount of $242,169, to be allocated for GEMS ($240,889) and Public Health ($1,280). Allocations were based on Medicare revenue received in FY 2019.
