BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT
Transfers accumulated funds from Fund Balance Appropriated Account to North Gaston Volunteer Fire Department.
BACKGROUND
On occasion, funds accumulate in fire district taxing accounts through the realization of past taxes being collected, property revaluation between budgets and account interest earned. This action will transfer such accumulated funds from Long Shoals reserve to North Gaston Volunteer Fire Department. Dennis Cash was in attendance at the Gaston County Fire Advisory Board Meeting on 03/19/2020 as well as a follow-up meeting on 04/08/2020 to answer questions regarding North Gaston’s request for approval to ask the Commissioners to release $12,450.00 of the Long Shoals reserve funds to them. The funds will go towards repairing the fire station roof. Discussion followed. Barry Wilson made a motion to recommend to the Commissioners that they release $12,450.00 of the Long Shoals reserve fund to North Gaston VFD with funds to be delivered upon completion of the roof. Ted Hendrix seconded the motion. There was no further discussion or opposition. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried.
