BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT
Transfers accumulated funds from Fund Balance Appropriated Account to Agriculture Center Volunteer Fire Department.
BACKGROUND
On occasion, funds accumulate in fire district taxing accounts through the realization of past taxes being collected, property revaluation between budgets and account interest earned. This action will transfer such accumulated funds to Agriculture Center Volunteer Fire Department. Matt Wilkinson was in attendance at the Gaston County Fire Advisory Board Meeting on 03/19/2020 to answer questions regarding Agriculture Center’s request for approval to ask the Commissioners to release $35,976.34 of their reserve funds to them. The funds will go towards the purchase of 10 portable radios, chargers, batteries and lapels from Motorola. Discussion followed. Ted Hendrix made a motion to recommend to the Commissioners that they release $35,976.34 reserve funds to Agriculture Center. Jeff Hovis seconded the motion. There was no further discussion or opposition. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried.
