BACKGROUND
On August 13, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners directed the County Manager to enter a contract with an independent consulting firm to conduct an analysis of Gaston County’s target market and economic development structure, focus, and funding. The deadline for study completion is November 1, 2019. The firm Economic Leadership, LLC, a Raleigh based company that focuses on place-based competitiveness, anticipating future trends, and devising strategies for growth, was selected to conduct the analysis. The work is being managed by Ted Abernathy, the managing partner in the firm.
