BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Decrease Emergency Telephone Fund, fund balance, by $60,018 and increase the General Fund fund balance by $60,018.

BACKGROUND

Resolution 2014-277 approved 10/28/2014 transferred $60,018 of budgeted monies back to the General Fund from the Emergency Telephone Fund as a result of the NC 911 Board approving the use of surcharge funds for costs associated with the maintenance of the emergency telephone and CAD databases.  The surcharge funds were to replace the $60,018 already allocated from the General Fund for those expenses.

The PSAP report does not provide a way of reporting these fund balance adjustments.  The fund balance adjustment made with Resolution 2014-277 is causing the PSAP report and the County's records to be out of balance.  This Board Action, if approved, reverses the fund balance transfer approved in 2014 and as a result will adjust the fund balance on the County books to the ending fund balance on the PSAP report as of June 30, 2022.
