BACKGROUND

On February 28, 2023, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 2023-081 to authorize acquisition of the property located at 110 W. Main Ave., Gastonia and appropriate funding for the design and upfit of the space. On April 25, 2023, the Board approved Resolution 2023-149 selecting Creech & Associates, PLLC as the architect of record to design the space. The upfit provides additional purpose-driven space to support County operations, including the Office of Capital Improvements (OCI), which manages large capital projects requiring coordination meetings with consultants and stakeholders. The space also accommodates pre-bid meetings, offering contractors a centrally located, easily accessible venue without additional security barriers, allowing them to review project details and finalize bid documents efficiently prior to submission deadlines. Additionally, the upfit will provide office and meeting space to support other County departments.

The Administrative Annex Upfit project was publicly advertised on January 16, 2026, and sealed bids were received and publicly opened on February 12, 2026. A total of six (6) bids were received, and the results are below. Cinderella Partners, Inc. submitted the apparent low responsive, responsible bid in the amount of $1,740,335.80.
