BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Increase revenues and expenses in the General Fund by $378,750 for the 21st Century Program.

BACKGROUND

 

Gaston County has been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant and will serve as the fiscal agent in partnership with Gaston County Schools, the implementing agency. The program will  provide 75 slots at each school site (150 total) in an after-school program for K-5 students and a total of 75 slots for both schools combined for a three-week intensive summer program. At Woodhill, 75 of the 518 identified students will be served for a percentage of 14.5%.  At Pleasant Ridge, 75 of the 637 identified students will be served, for a percentage of 11.8%.
