BACKGROUND

The Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Division received grant funds from the Community Foundation of Gaston County for the Public Health Teen Action Council (TAC).  These funds will be used to support a teen health fair to connect teens to local services, organizations/clubs, as well as education information.  TAC is the youth leadership arm of DHHS Public Health and consists of 18 Gaston County high school students who meet twice per month to address local health issues.  TAC members plan and host health education events for their peers, provide guidance to local leaders from a youth perspective, and advocate for changes that will increase the quality of life for Gaston County residents.  These are non-County funds
