BACKGROUND

Per Board Action 2018-175, adopted on June 26, 2018, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners accepted an offer submitted by Mr. Brent Moore (Home Showcase of the Carolinas, Inc.) in the amount of $11,500.00 to purchase a County-owned surplus property (PID 203783) located at 2005 Beauhaven Lane, Belmont with a current tax value of $45,461.00.  This offer was subject to the upset bid procedures as established by NCGS 160A-269.  The Public Works office did not receive any upset bids and presents the offer, as submitted by Mr. Brent Moore (Home Showcase of the Carolinas, Inc.) in the amount of $11,500.00, as the best and highest bid received.

Having received all bids, per NCGS 160A-269 the Board of Commissioners must accept or reject the offer submitted.  Accepting the sale of this parcel for the highest offer received will enable staff to finalize the transaction and draft the necessary deed and title transfer documents.  Approval of this Board Action formally accepts the best and highest offer for PID 203783 and directs staff to prepare the necessary documents for signature by the Chairman.
