BACKGROUND
An FY26 Historic Preservation Grant was awarded for the Gaston County Local Design Standards Project (the creation of a document the HPC will use to determine if changes for locally designated landmarks are historically appropriate) in the amount of $25,000 by the State Historic Preservation Office, Division of Historical Resources, Offices of Archive and History, North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources. Matching donation funds are available in the Historic Preservation Land Capital Account in the amount of $18,000. This Board Action and BCR appropriates the state grant for $25,000 and transfers the match from the Capital Fund to the General Fund.
