BACKGROUND

At the April 1, 2026 Fire Commission Meeting, the Lowell Fire Department presented a Certificate of Need (CON) to amend the previously approved Certificate of Need for a New Engine. The amendment is for an additional $50,000.00, for a total of $950,000.00, to purchase a New Engine. The Fire Commission approved the amended Certificate of Need with the financing term to be 15 years. The line item for debt payments will increase and be included in the FY27 Budget.
