BACKGROUND

The Gaston County Police Department has five (5) weapons no longer in service.  Four H&K MP5’s were taken out of service when the Emergency Response Team transitioned to a different entry weapon platform several years ago.  The Remington shotgun is an old Wingmaster model that is no longer in service due to its age of over thirty years.  The trade-in value of $2,500 will be applied to the departments store credit to be applied to future purchases of weapons or equipment.  Clyde Armory is the vendor the department is utilizing for all its weapon purchases.

The department is requesting these five weapons be declared surplus.
