BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Transferring accumulated funds from Fund Balance Appropriated Account to Hugh’s Pond Subsidies Account.

BACKGROUND

On occasion funds accumulate in fire district taxing accounts through the realization of past taxes being collected, property revaluation between budgets and account interest earned.  This action will transfer such accumulated funds to Hugh’s Pond Volunteer Fire Department, so that they may make operational upgrades.  At the August 31, 2016 Fire Advisory Board Meeting, Chief Herb Blanton submitted a spending plan (see attached) and Hugh’s Pond’s request for approval to ask the Commissioners to release $8,462.00 of their reserve money to them.  Hugh’s Pond will use the reserve funds to gain revenue to fund Travel and Training and Equipment Maintenance.  Ted Hendrix made a motion to recommend to the Commissioners that they release $8,462.00 reserve funds to Hugh’s Pond.  Brian Weyeneth seconded the motion.  There was no further discussion or opposition.  The vote was unanimous.  The motion carried.
