BACKGROUND

Gaston County will receive $1,162,552 in Home and Community Care Block Grant funds for FY2020-2021 to provide support services to older adults. The Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee met on March 10, 2020 to approve the best use of these funds. The Gaston County Health and Human Services Board reviewed the plan and voted on March 30, 2020 recommending approval of this funding plan. The Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee and the Gaston County Health & Human Services Board approved the FY2020-2021 funding plan, which allocates funds as follows: In-Home Aide, $639,403; Congregate Nutrition, $93,004; Home Delivered Meals, $279,013; Transportation, $116,255; and Adult Day Care, $34,877. The funding of this allocation, as well as the County’s requirements, is included in the Department of Health and Human Services FY2020-2021 Budget. (Note: In the event the grant funds expire, the County shall not assume budgetary responsibility for the program or any personnel associated with the program.)
