General Fund: Appropriate $3,000 in donation revenue. Increase operating expenditures for program supplies by $3,000 to help offset the cost of Cotton Ginning Days.

BACKGROUND

The 37^th annual Cotton Ginning Days Festival will be held October 11-13, 2024.  The festival is sponsored by the Gaston Agricultural, Mechanical, and Textile Restoration (GAMTRA) and Gaston County Parks and Recreation.  The event features an engine show, a fully operational Cotton Gin, 1890’s Historic Village, crafts, food and kid’s activities.  The festival was created to celebrate and commemorate the history of the textile industry in Gaston County.
