BACKGROUND

GCC has awarded the Sheriff’s Office a one-year grant in the amount of $140,000.25. The DV Unit is comprised of two full-time, sworn deputies and a court advocate.  Funding pays for partial salaries and benefits for the two deputies.  A portion of the deputies’ fringes and a portion of the DV advocate’s salary are matching funds. Deputies serve all domestic-related warrants and summons in each of the 13 municipal jurisdictions. The Court Advocate who works with the DV Unit provides confidential services that educate, support, and guide victims and their families through the court process and refers victims to local community service providers.
