General Fund: Increase state grant revenue by $2,300.  Increase operating expenditure by $2,300. This contract is a one-time commitment that will end June 30, 2025.

BACKGROUND

Gaston County Cooperative Extension began its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program in 2024. The CSA Program is a local foods program that allows County employees to purchase a subscription for a fresh food delivery program sourced from local farms on a weekly basis. Gaston County Cooperative Extension has been selected by The AgVentures Grant to receive $2,300 in funding for the purchase of a freezer and shelving to aid in the distribution of weekly deliveries. The grant calls for a 15% match of County funds to be used for the CSA Program which has been met.
