BACKGROUND

Charles D. Costner has agreed to sell a portion of PID 165934 (1.07 +/- acres) located at 117 Hardin Road, Dallas, to Gaston County for a total purchase price of $125,000. The closing costs are estimated not to exceed $20,000.

The Gaston County Board of Commissioners (BOC) approved Resolution 2022-294 on September 27, 2022, for the ARPA Dallas High Shoals Interconnect (SRP-D-ARP-0075). The purchase of the above property will provide a location to construct the water tank required for this project. Closing is contingent upon and until the BOC awards a construction contract for the ARPA Dallas High Shoals Interconnect project.

Approval of this Board Action authorizes the purchase of the above property.   It also authorizes the County Attorney to draft any necessary contract, deed, and title transfer documents and authorizes the County Manager, or his/her designee, to execute and record any and all documents necessary to purchase the property.  Lastly, and in addition to the purchase, approval of this Board Action authorizes the transfer of any necessary funds to provide for the purchase and associated closing costs.
