BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Increase department revenues by $2,210 and appropriate $2,210 into the Professional Services account.

BACKGROUND

Animal Care and Enforcement recently received unsolicited donations in the amount of $2,210.  Donations were received July 11, 2023 and July 14, 2023.

An unsolicited donation was received from The Thrasher Group in the amount of $1,000.  This company is participating in 20 days of giving and chose Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement as a recipient of a donation.

An Empty the Shelter event was held May 1 - 15, 2023 during that time 3 cats and 18 dogs were adopted through the shelter.  A donation of $960 was made to help cover the cost of the 21 adoptions.

A Gaston County resident recently made a donation after his experience with employees while there adopting a dog from the shelter.
