BACKGROUND
The Jail Annex was constructed in 1997. The roof is original to the building and almost 30 years old. It has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced. We have experienced an increasing number of failures and leaks during recent years. All of those issues have been addressed, however, continued issues and leaks will continue to occur as the roof degrades further.
This Board Action and Budget Change Request transfers $445,000 in funds previously budgeted for the GEMS roof replacement project (FY25) to the Jail Annex roof replacement project. The Jail Annex roof replacement project was requested as part of the FY27 CIP process. During a committee meeting, the remaining funds in the GEMS roof replacement project were identified as a funding source, as they are no longer needed at this time. No additional County funds.
