BACKGROUND

The 32nd Annual Cotton Ginning Days Festival will be held on October 11-13, 2019.  The festival is sponsored by the Gaston Agricultural, Mechanical, and Textile Restoration Association (also known as GAMTRA) and Gaston County Parks and Recreation.  The event features an engine show, a fully operational cotton gin, 1890s Historic Village, crafts, food, and children’s activities.  The festival was created to celebrate and commemorate the history of the textile industry in Gaston County.  Cotton Ginning Days was selected as a Local Legacy by the United States Library of Congress in 2000.
