Will be used to fund musical entertainment and other activities for the annual Cotton Ginning Days festival. This contract is an annually renewing commitment that will end 12/31/25, anticipating an additional appropriation of funds in FY ’26.

BACKGROUND
The 37th annual Cotton Ginning Days Festival was held on October 11-13, 2024. The festival was sponsored by the Gaston Agricultural, Mechanical, and Textile Restoration Association (also known as GAMTRA) and Gaston County Parks and Recreation. The event featured an engine show, a fully operational cotton gin, 1890’s Historic Village, crafts, food, and children’s activities. The festival was created to celebrate and commemorate the history of the textile industry in Gaston County. Cotton Ginning Days was selected as a Local Legacy by the United States Library of Congress in 2000.
