BACKGROUND
Gaston County’s Department of Health and Social Services (DHHS) was awarded State Essential Services funds to provide essential services and supports for recovery efforts to both vulnerable adults involved with the adult services system and children and families involved in the child welfare system who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. Gaston County’s original funding award has been reduced due to a reallocation of funding done by the State.
The original award amount for the Essential Services Grant was accepted and appropriated on December 10, 2024.
(Res. 2024-451), was $158,741. The revised award amount is now $83,741.
