BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Increase State Grant revenue by $7,865 and appropriate $7,865 into the program project salary and fringe accounts.

BACKGROUND

The Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Division received additional state grant funds from the Partnership for Children for Lincoln and Gaston Counties for the Public Health Community Health Education Smart Start Program in the amount of $7,865. These funds will be used for two Smart Start program managers’ salaries and fringes who will continue to work on behalf of young children in the Gaston County community by supporting children’s safety, health, and preparedness through the Smart Start program.  These are non-County funds.
