BACKGROUND
Per Board Action 2024-158, an offer to purchase County owned property PID# 121088 for $1,200.00 was proposed for acceptance by the Board of Commissioners (BOC) at its meeting on April 23, 2024. Pursuant to NCGS 153A-176 and §160A-269, the offer was subjected to the upset bid procedures as established by law. The offer was advertised on April 28, 2024. During the upset bid process, two upset bid offers were received. The upset bid process was followed and applied to each offer.
The second upset bid and current offer of $1,600.00 was received on May 23, 2024. It was then advertised on June 6, 2024. No further upset bids were received. Per NCGS § 160A-269, the BOC may now accept or reject the offer of the highest bidder.
Approval of this Board Action will accept the final, highest offer of $1,600.00 received from Robert and Debra Hasselwander. It will also authorize the County Attorney to draft any necessary contract, deed, and title transfer documents and authorize the County Manager, or his/her designee, to execute and record any and all documents necessary to convey the property.
