BACKGROUND
The Public Outreach Specialist:
• organizes and facilitates the participation of the County’s domestic violence programs at local events, fairs and community activities
• works collaboratively with various local agencies and organizations in order to provide appropriate education and outreach services pertaining to domestic violence
• assists in providing educational trainings to new volunteers
• researches, develops. initiates and implements education curriculum training materials for community outreach
• communicates outreach work with civic groups, faith based organizations and community agencies and other groups providing intervention services with an emphasis on best practices
• provides education and training to underserved populations, advancing the voices of victims/survivors and the needs and requests of the community
• researches current data for presentations to community groups, schools, agencies, and businesses.
