BACKGROUND
Gaston County partnered with Kimley-Horn to update the County’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP). This plan establishes a long-range vision for growth and development through 2050 and reflects current conditions, emerging trends, and community priorities. The CLUP will serve as a policy guide for future land use decisions. A public hearing was advertised and held on September 22, 2026, with public hearing comments being on file in the Board of Commission Clerk’s Office. Planning and Zoning Board recommendation was provided on August 31, 2026, and the Commission is requested to consider the public hearing comments, Planning and Zoning Board recommendation, and other pertinent information, then (approve), (disapprove), or (modify) the map change.
