BACKGROUND

 

The NC Envirothon is a hands-on environmental science and natural resources competition for high school and middle school students, fostering environmental responsibility in our next generation of leaders. Participation takes place at three levels: area, state and national.  Teams study and train prior to the competition to be tested on their knowledge of wildlife, aquatics, forestry, soils, and current environmental issues. A total of 49 Middle School teams and 51 High School teams competed at this year’s NC Envirothon Competition, representing Area level winners from across the state.

Stanley Middle School “Dodo Donuts” Envirothon Team members: Jillian Schultheis, Prudence Hammond, Rosalyn Skidmore, Amelia Burr, and Teacher, Diana Baxter.
