BACKGROUND
Gaston County Parks and Recreation maintains and manages a system of 18 parks, including the Dallas Park. The 90-acre Dallas Park was constructed in the 1970s and park amenities include athletic fields, equestrian facilities, tennis courts, picnic shelters, and a historic village. In 2019, Gaston County received a NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant and the grant funds will be used to construct new park facilities including a Splashpad, restroom facility, and a new picnic shelter. These new facilities were requested by the public during the 2013 master planning process for the Dallas Park. The Town of Dallas donated $30,000 to assist with construction costs for the new Splashpad.
