BACKGROUND

Gaston County Employees pledged over $75,000 for the United Way of Gaston County in their 2015 United Way Campaign.  GEMS, Sheriff's Office, DHHS (Health Department, DSS, and ACCESS) are to be commended for their achievement and generosity.  Additionally, United Way coordinators Captain Robert Sneed in GEMS, Captain Shea Wilkinson in the Sheriff's Office, Christie Williams in the Health Department, Catherine Oglesby in DSS, Ann Gibson in ACCESS, and United Way advocates GEMS Chief Mark Lamphiear, Sheriff Alan Cloninger, and DHHS Director Chris Dobbins are to be recognized for their work and fund-raising efforts in the 2015 Gaston County Employees United Way Campaign on behalf of the United Way of Gaston County. This effort led to Gaston County Employees having a 35% increase in giving from 2014.
