BACKGROUND
The Gaston County Department of Social Services received donations during the period of April 1, 2026, to May 31, 2026, totaling $32,403.18. This Board Action and Budget Change Request will appropriate unrestricted funds to be used as intended by the donors into respective expense accounts: $22,697.90 for the Energy Program, $1,043.73 for Adult Nutrition Program, $742.28 for the Adult Day Care Program, $500.00 for Foster Care and Adoptions 5K Fun Run Initiative, $5,763.00 for The Cathy Mabry Cloninger Center, $61.27 for the Child Advocacy Center, and $1,595.00 for the Child Advocacy Center Kara’s Closet Initiative.
