BACKGROUND

Project Metro is considering a total investment of $3,480,000 to expand and upfit their manufacturing facility in Gaston County and purchase and install new machinery and equipment. The firm intends to create at least 15 new jobs over two years in Gaston County. The required local 5% match will be the approved Local Investment Grant. It is anticipated that this will increase property and sales tax revenue based upon Project Metro choosing to expand its manufacturing facility in Gaston County. The Gaston County Board of Commissioners desires to support this manufacturing operations so as to induce the company to provide good job opportunities and capital investment which will enhance the County’s ability to attract additional business and industry.
