This purchase involves a down payment of $18,606.92 with the remainder, $55,800, being financed through Fidelity Bank at a rate of 3%. Quarterly payments, in the amount of $4,868.19 will be made for three (3) years. Funds will be derived from the Chapel Grove / South Gastonia Fire Service Districts and will require no additional County funding nor any Fire Service District tax increase.

BACKGROUND
At the Fire Advisory Board meeting on January 11, 2016, Chief Eric Withers presented a Certificate of Need for Crowder's Mountain Volunteer Fire and Rescue. This is to purchase 3 complete sets of Hurst Edraulic Extrication Tools, (Each set consisting of a spreader, cutter, ram with 2 batteries plus charger and an 110v adapter) at a cost of $74,406.92. There will be a down payment of $18,606.92, with the remainder, $55,800, being financed through Fidelity Bank at a rate of 3%. Payments will be made quarterly in the amount of $4,868.19 for three years. CMFR will NOT be asking for a tax increase in 2016 budget year. Existing extrication equipment is more than 15-20 years old, some being obsolete and parts for repairs are unavailable. This equipment is past-due for upgrades.
