BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

This purchase maintains current policy and will require no additional county funding nor any Fire Service District tax increase.

BACKGROUND

On November 30, 2015, Bryan Robinson presented a Certificate of Need Application for Alexis Fire Department. This is to purchase 26 Scott Air Packs at an estimated cost of $181,217.   There will be a down payment of $11,217, with the remainder, $170,000, being financed through Local Government Federal Credit Union at a rate of 2.75%.  Payments are set at $19,679 annually for 10 years.  Alexis will NOT be asking for a tax increase next budget year.  Barry Wilson made a motion to recommend to the Commissioners that they extend the Certificate of Need to Alexis.  David Toomey seconded the motion.  There was no further discussion or opposition.  The motion carried.  This action indicates the Gaston County Board of Commissioners knows of and is in accord with this transaction.  It also authorizes the Chairman of the County Commission to sign any additional funding documentation letter(s) required by the financing institution.
