BACKGROUND

METYX USA is considering a total investment of $3.2 million in renovations and machinery & equipment to expand their manufacturing plant at 2405 Lowell Rd in Gaston County; and the firm intends to create thirty-seven (37) new jobs over five (5) years, of which twenty-six (26) jobs are to be created in the first two (2) years, and the average annual wage of these jobs are projected to be $42,054 with the current annual average wage for Gaston County being $42,018.  Approval of this Board Action authorizes the acceptance of a NCDOC Rural Economic Development Division Building Reuse Grant for the benefit of Metyx USA, which requires a local matching grant of $7,000, to be appropriated from fund balance.
