BACKGROUND
This sealed bid procedure was conducted for Interpreting Services - Bid #2025-002
a. Service Contracts containing local funds must follow Gaston County Purchasing Policy and Procedure Manual instructions located on pages 9-10 of the policy. A sealed bid is a procurement method in which bids are publicly solicited and a firm-fixed price contract (lump sum or unit price) is awarded to the responsible bidder who bid, conforming with all the material terms and conditions of the invitation for bids, is the lowest in price.
b. Bid was publicized on the County's website, and on the NC DOA Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) site to solicit from M/WBE vendors. This Interpreting Services bid was also advertised in the Gaston Gazette. All were advertised as a Public "Bid Opening" that referenced the date, time, and location of bid opening.
c. Three responses were received before the deadline of Monday, April 1, 2025 @ 1:00 PM. Language Line was the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder for this solicitation and is recommended for contract award approval. Contract award is recommended for approval to Language Line for Interpreting Services in the amount of $106,300 annually. The effective dates of the contract will be from 07/01/26 through 06/30/27 with the option to extend an additional year. Pricing of all bidders are attached.
