Transfers vehicle ownership to the Gaston County Board of Education of Vehicle #872 to benefit Cherryville High School and Vehicle #876 to benefit Stuart W. Cramer High School
BACKGROUND
Gaston County has designated Vehicle #872 (VIN# 1FVACWDK98HZ30619) and Vehicle #876 (VIN# 1FVACWDK38HZ30616) to be in poor condition, uneconomical for continued use and, as having met the established surplus criteria. These vehicles were previously declared surplus and authorized for sale via Resolution 2016-178 adopted on June 28, 2016. Vehicle #872 is a 2008 Freightliner M2 Ambulance with approximately 347,827 miles and Vehicle #876 is a 2008 Freightliner M2 Ambulance with approximately 365,016 miles, both were assigned to GEMS. Cherryville High School and Stuart W. Cramer High School have requested a surplus ambulance for use in their EMT programs. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-274, this Board Action authorizes the County Manager to transfer Vehicle #872 to the Gaston County Board of Education to benefit Cherryville High School for $1 and Vehicle #876 to the Gaston County School Board to benefit Stuart W. Cramer High School for $1 or, in the event either vehicle is not in acceptable condition at the time of transfer, to substitute another, similar surplus vehicle. Further, this transfer is conditioned upon the understanding that all expenses including, but not limited to, repairs, motor fuels and lubricants, tag, inspections and any other costs associated with purchase and ownership will be the sole responsibility of the Gaston County Board of Education.
