BACKGROUND

The U.S. Department of Transportation has issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant Program. Funds for the FY2023 RAISE program are to be awarded on a competitive basis for projects that will have a significant local or regional impact. The USDOT has been authorized to solicit applications and award grants of up to $25 million.

For the 2023 RAISE grant, Gaston County, on behalf of the Gaston-Cleveland-Lincoln-Metropolitan Planning Organization (GCLMPO) and in partnership with the City of Gastonia, the City of Belmont, and the Town of Cramerton, will be seeking funding to complete an environmental document for the Catawba Crossings.
