BACKGROUND

The Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Division was awarded grant funds from UNC-Chapel Hill for the Healthy Corner Store Initiative. The Healthy Corner Store Initiative is a project to collaborate with corner stores so that the stores can offer more healthy food options for the community. These funds will be used to purchase supplies for the corner stores in order to assist them in offering more healthy food options and to purchase starter inventory supplies. These are non-county funds.
