BACKGROUND

Gaston County Parks and Recreation and the Gaston Agricultural, Mechanical, and Textile Restoration Association or GAMTRA will sponsor the 30^th Annual Cotton Ginning Days festival in the Dallas Park on October 13-15.  The festival celebrates the textile heritage of Gaston County and features displays of antique steam engines, tractors, and farm equipment as well as an operational cotton gin.  Festival activities also include entertainment, arts and crafts, children’s activities, heritage arts, community displays, and a wide variety of food trucks.  Parks and Recreation has received $4,000 in sponsorships and requests the sponsorships be accepted and appropriated to the proper budget account to offset expenses for the festival.
