BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Increase revenues and expenses by $160,276.

BACKGROUND

The purpose of this request is to appropriate $160,276 in federal grant funds and to transfer the County’s required match of $160,276 into the grant project.  Gaston County Parks and Recreation applied for a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant to supplement County funds for Dallas Park improvements.  Improvements to date in the Dallas Park include a dog park and soccer field.  Improvements in progress include the addition of a splash pad, restroom/splash pad control building, playground for pre-school children, and a paved walking trail.  The Land and Water Conservation Funds will provide funding for a fully-accessible playground and a new restroom facility on the eastern side of the Dallas Park.
