BACKGROUND
Gaston County Parks and Recreation recently advertised for contractors to submit proposals for Region B Lawn Maintenance. Contractors on the County’s mailing list received notification by mail and a legal ad was placed in the Gaston Gazette. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting was held on February 3, 2016 with seven contractors attending including Green Lawn Specialists, P & H Lawncare, Grass Hopper, Mark’s Lawn Works, Ryan Lawn, Heavens Lawn, and Pioneer Landscape. At the meeting, the RFP was discussed in detail including proposal evaluation criteria and information to be included with proposals. Sealed proposals were received February 17 from Green Lawn Specialists and Grass Hopper Lawn Service. Staff evaluated proposals on the evaluation criteria and recommends awarding Grass Hopper Lawn Service the Region B contract effective April 1, 2016. The initial contract will run from April 1 - June 30, 2016 and the contract amount will be prorated to reflect the three month period.
