BACKGROUND

The Lighthouse Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) has been awarded a GCC one-year grant extension in the amount of $98,724.17 to support partial salary and partial benefits for the Forensic Interviewer, Victim Advocate and Program Manager and program supplies to support trauma-informed services.

The Forensic Interviewer facilitates and coordinates forensic interviews for potential victims of child abuse, ensuring interviews are legally sound and culturally sensitive.

The Victim Advocate provides comprehensive victim and family advocacy services, including crisis intervention, trauma education, and systematic guidance, often on an on-call basis.

The Program Manager oversees staff, programming, accreditation, and the growth of the CAC, ensuring quality assurance and Multi-Disciplinary Team partner development. The Program Manager also assists with data management, reporting, staff evaluations, and other needed tasks.

The North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission administers the state's federal grants through Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grants. The grant does not require a match.

Year 4 grant period of performance: 10/01/25 - 09/30/26
