BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Transferring accumulated funds from Fund Balance Appropriated Account to Tryonota Fire Department Subsidies Account

BACKGROUND

On occasion funds accumulate in fire district taxing accounts through the realization of past taxes being collected, property revaluation between budgets and account interest earned.  This action will transfer such accumulated funds to Tryonota Fire Department.  Chief Justin Barnes submitted a spending plan (see attached) and Tryonota’s request for approval to ask the Commissioners to release $63,240 of their reserve funds to them.  Tryonota will use the reserve funds toward the purchase of creating a water point at the station, furnishing the interior of their remodeled fire department and installing a diesel generator.  Barry Wilson made a motion to recommend to the Commissioners that they release $63,240 reserve funds to Tryonota.  Jeff Hovis seconded the motion.  There was no further discussion or opposition.  The vote was unanimous.  The motion carried.
