BACKGROUND

County Parks and Recreation received a Gaston County Travel and Tourism grant in the amount of $1,750. The grant will be used to cover expenses for the First Annual BikeFest to be held at George Poston Park on June 4, 2016.  June 4 is also National Recreational Trails Day and the trails at George Poston Park were designated as a National Recreational Trail in 2015.   The BikeFest event will feature bike vendors with loaner bikes, bike specialty shops, guided rides, a kid's bikes skills clinic, food trucks, entertainment, and other outdoor activities.  Families are encouraged to come and enjoy all the outdoor activities that George Poston Park has to offer.
