BACKGROUND

The Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Division was awarded federal grant funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention passed through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services - Local and Community Support Section.  The  funds will help meet the short-term critical infrastructure needs and to make strategic investments which will have lasting effects on local public health departments in North Carolina.  The grant funds will be used for staff training to invest and support its capacity and expertise specific to Foundational Capability Accountability and Performance Measurement.  These are non-County funds.
