BACKGROUND
At the April 1, 2026 Fire Commission Meeting, a Certificate of Need (CON) was presented on behalf of Community Fire Department requesting reimbursement in the amount of $23,065.00 for the installation of a sprinkler and fire alarm system. On January 15, 2025, the Fire Commission previously reviewed and approved this project in the total amount of $168,303.00 under Certificate of Need 202410232-21. Funding for the project included an AFG Grant for $95,238.00, $50,000.00 from the Unified Fire District Fund, and the remaining $23,065.00 to be requested from the Unified Fire District Fund in FY2026. The original Certificate of Need (CON) was approved by the Board of Commissioners on February 25, 2025, and recorded as Resolution # 2025-044.
