BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Increase SCAAP grant revenues by $18,365; increase budgeted amount SCAAP grant project expenditure account by the same.

BACKGROUND

Gaston County was awarded an $18,365 grant from the 2015 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP). The federal Bureau of Justice Assistance provides State Criminal Alien Assistance Program grants to reimburse costs incurred by state or political subdivisions of a state, including counties, for the confinement of certain undocumented criminal aliens. The Sheriff's Office will use the grant money for diversity training.
